How to Use SalvageSettlers

SalvageSettlers is a simple-to-use online marketplace for the trading of salvage, scrap and idle assets via its Forward eAuction facility, as well as the supply and purchase of a variety of goods and services using its Reverse eAuction facility. For the best experience, first register with SalvageSettlers. Once registered, you will be able to quickly sell, view and bid using eAuctions or negotiate to sell or buy an item through a classified listing.

Forward eAuctions

Forward eAuctions come in two flavours: private or public. Both types of auction require the user to be registered with SalvageSettlers.com.

Private Auctions

Private auctions are by invitation only, so an interested buyer needs to send a request to participate. Once approved, the buyer is required to make an Earnest Money Deposit and as soon as the auction is live, the buyer bids directly via the site. Bidding on private auctions is generally limited to an hour.

Public Auctions

Public auctions are open to everyone and do not require an invitation or prior approval to participate. In public auctions the winning buyer submits the EMD post the bid but prior to the bid being approved by the seller. Bidding on public auctions is usually open for up to 10 days.

You can browse auctions using the left hand menus. You may choose to view specific categories of products or view items by location.

You can also view products by their eAuction status. Live auctions are auctions where bidding is active. Upcoming auctions are scheduled to become live in a specified timeframe. You can browse the upcoming auctions and add items to your wishlist for future reference. You can also choose to auto bid on an upcoming or live auction, specifying a final bid offer. Our eAuction system automatically includes you as a bidder and bids on your behalf in the increments defined for that item.

Classified Listings

For classified listings, a seller simply completes and sends the 'Post a Listing' form via the website. Once reviewed, it is uploaded onto the website. Buyers, once registered with the site, get in touch with the seller directly and negotiate the deal bilaterally. Reverse eAuctions

Reverse eAuctions are for buyers to procure goods or services from pre-approved suppliers.
